Terry Gilliam & Michael Palin take on the Networks in "No Naughty Bits"
"Terry Gilliam" and "Michael Palin" are featured in the cast of characters in Steve Thompson's new bio play, No Naughty Bits. The play will have its world premiere at Hampstead Theatre, kicking off their 2011-2012 season on September 8, 2011. Directed by Hampstead's artistic director, Edward Hall, No Naughty Bits, "a witty and bold re-imagining based on a real-life event," follows Gilliam and Palin as they take on the TV networks and the American courts after Monty Python's Flying Circus first airs in the U.S., minus the "naughty bits." The production runs from Sept 8 to Oct 15. Now in its fiftieth year, Hampstead Theatre is a writer's theatre, devoted to producing new works of both emerging and established writers, and has produced new works by playwrights the likes of Harold Pinter and Brian Friel. I wonder if Palin and Gilliam will have a chance to catch a performance and see themselves interpreted on stage. Should prove interesting. Tickets are on sale now.

Terry Gilliam Talks Principal Cast of ENO's 'The Damnation of Faust'
Gilliam shares his thoughts on casting strong actors as well as strong singers in the principal roles of THE DAMNATION OF FAUST. Yet another of his qualities he's brought from the cinema to the stage -- his collaborative nature (despite sometimes being inaccurately labeled an auteur), and his desire to surround himself with artists who bring a lot to the table. Be sure to keep visiting the Inside Opera blog for the Gilliam quotes and photos of the day, and visit the ENO Website to book your tickets.

You can see photos and read the play-by-play of the Screentalk from Phil Stubbs who was at the event, over at the awesomely cool DREAMS Fanzine.
Here's a clip from National Media Museum of Gilliam receiving the award:
And here's a brief snippet of an interview from Pictureville:
"Terry Gilliam talks about the moment film changed his life."

The Wholly Family: A Dreamlike Journey Between Reality and Imagination
Thanks once again to Amalia at Pasta Garofalo for keeping us informed with the latest details on Terry Gilliam's new short THE WHOLLY FAMILY. In the last few years, Garofalo has produced a number of short films that have received great accolades, including the directorial debut of actress Valeria Golino (Rain Man, Four Rooms, Alive), ARMANDINO E IL MADRE, which was presented at the New York City International Film Festival, and at the Ischia and Montecatini film festivals. Check out previous years' short films at Garofalo Firma il Cinema.
With Gilliam helming the reins, Pecorini behind the camera, and Garofalo producing, I think we can expect THE WHOLLY FAMILY to be an honest-to-goodness work of art in pure Gilliam-style. Bring it on, Gilly!
More of the deets and a bit of a plot teaser.......
